OK, you're kicking yourself for not getting in line for a fine new RED camera when the reservations were available. Well grab that extra $1000 because here's your chance. The RED crew has decided to make reservations available from January 21 - 24th. More info should be posted on their website soon, until then you still have time to collect those cans for some extra cash.RED reservations to open again

(Page 1)2. It seems a little risky to pre-order. I'd really like a RED based on what I've seen and heard, but I'm going to wait until the second-gen models come out. The first-gen ones are likely to have glitches and issues (all first-gen products normally do), especially considering the fact that this is a startup company releasing their first product, and that the guy who started it has no prior experience in this field.

3. Gentlemen, the two of you are dumber than a box of dumb things. Your statements are so mis-informed on so many levels, why bother. You obviously don't work in the motion media field. Ignorance is bliss... if your into that kind of thing.

6. Amway? You've obviously never been to one of their recruitment meetings, and obviously don't know what a pyramid scam is. With RED, there is zero risk as you can get your money back at any time for any reason.
Sure, Jim himself never made a camera before, but a lot of the engineers and a lot of the other people on the team have. Jim has been using all manner of cameras longer than I've been alive and has tremendous practical experience, and as a camera collector a vast knowledge of camera technology, both mundane and obscure.

7. As I said, I'll believe it when I see it actually working at NAB. And yes, I've been using video cameras since before you were born too. I've seen way too many vaporware products over the years to get too excited about this. Besides, I've just plunked my money down on Sony's XDCAM-HD.

8. No Eric what you said was,"This reminds me of an Amway sales pitch or pyramid scheme. I'll believe it when I see it. Also, I think Oakley sunglasses look dorky. Just say no to hype." Spoken like like a true professional who,"And yes, I've been using video cameras since before you were born too." Whatever, clearly you have "old man disease". Are you sure your not a video engineer working for a local station? Enoy your crippleware. I have been shooting 35mm, s16, 16 and the various flavors of video for quite a few years now. Whatever you do Eric, don't stay flexible. More work for the rest of us... Oh, if you don't who Graeme Nattress is all about, then you should check your pulse. He is one of the main reasons that I am getting a RED. See you at NAB!
