Since their inclusion in September, Disney has officially sold more than 500,000 movie downloads on the iTunes Store. Not too shabby for something like two and a half months, eh? Interestingly, popular downloads include the High School Musical and Hannah Montana TV shows. I wonder if this is a good indicator of whether consumes are more willing to go for shorter, episodic videos than feature films. Will these recent successes help to persuade other companies to jump on the iTunes bandwagon?(via TUAW)

1. High School Musical doesn't count. To start with, it's a movie (made-for-TV, but still feature-length). On top of that, it's been selling on iTunes for much, much longer since iTunes started selling dedicated movies (they got around it because it was a TV movie).
