Motivity Pictures is sharing two examples of their filmic footage experiments using a HVX200, an M2 lens adapter, and Magic Bullet's Look Suite. The footage looks real yummy if I do say so myself and this would be a perfect solution for the low budget filmmaker. Let's break it down: HVX200 ($5,995.00), Redrock M2 lens adapter HD ($1,295.00), Magic Bullet Editors v 2.0 ($399.00) = $,7689.00. Not cheap to some, but just go drool over the footage and you will agree, it is certainly worth it. Examples of filmic look using HVX200 and M2 adapter

(Page 1)2. If there was ever a call to make your film it would be now. Remember when everyone was all excited about DV and how it would democratize the process. Now the tools have caught up with the ideas. With the right personnel, a decent budget and above all, a great screenplay, filmmakers can do something more than just "make" a film, we can give the studios a run for their money. It looks great.
3. More HVX+M2 footage, in a longer-form, narrative style:

4. You left off something in your budget...recording media. Be it P2 cards, firestore or whathaveyou. That will add thousands...so they need to be taken into consideration.

5. The footage is great--I'd like to know what kind of recording media they used--P2 or firestore, what kind of lenses they used, and lastly, what kind of matte box was attached to the rig and what kind of filters, if any, did they use in the matte box.

6. we used this camera for our short film an exercise in vigilance, unfortunately we were not able to shoot with a 35mm package (got screwed at the last moment by the rental house), so we'll be doing some of the depth of field fx in post.
but the camera gets incredible footage and working with the p2 system is fantastic. plug and play.

7. faithfulmovie.net is registered to admin@redusers.net -- the site for the RED camera. So is this movie a test bed for RED, or for the HVX-200 and M2?

1. $7,698 is certainly not cheap but that footage goes to show how far independent/lower-budget film has come. Look out hollywood.
