Remember those guys that mixed Coke and Mentos together? Well they released a second video and this time around Google has stepped in to sponsor. Creators Fritz Grobe and Stephen Voltz have let Google host the video in exchange for a share of the ad revenue. This comes on the same day Brightcove introduced it's revenue-sharing plan and Metacafe announced it would pay $5 for every 1,000 viewers after the first 20,000. It looks like revenue sharing is the future but who will nail the right price for video producers? Google is only considering producers of top quality content and Metacafe -- well has Metacafe even broken 20,000 page views? For now, Brightcove appears to be the best revenue-sharing partner offering 50% of ad revenue and 30% of video sales with no page view minimums or large requirements for sponsorship. Who's gonna be next to up the ante? P.S. The original Coke and Mentos experiment video made reportedly $35,000 from Revver's sharing model.

1. I expect this market will go crazy soon. One day it will be an open market (not a selected one) and every man and his dog will be doing stupid things to make a dollar. Wonder when the first "google made me do it" excuse will occur (ala Grand Theft Auto)
