Whoa! If you've been craving some serious short film work that would never make it past all the clutter on YouTube, UbuWeb Film has you covered: their website features a brimming collection of avant garde films and video art for your downloading pleasure. Films like these rarely get seen outside of niche movie theaters, or perhaps library collections, so this is hugely welcome. And ok, so these films were probably never meant to be viewed as tiny, compressed digital files on a computer screen, but you've gotta take what you can get these days. Filmmakers and artists like Dziga Vertov and Nam Jun Paik, and everyone inbetween are present and accounted for. Most of the files are in big ol' AVI and MPEG formats.
