Shooting movies on cell phones

Cell phones have entered the realm of film production, with directors shooting on mobile phones to create both short and feature length films. Apparently something more than a short-lived and novel gimmick, this trend has resulted in numerous worldwide festivals, including the second annual Pocket Films Festival, which recently took place in Paris. Nearly 100 short films and three features screened, all shot exclusively on cell phones. Exploiting the lo-fi nature of the imagery, filmmakers are conciously choosing to shoot on cell phones for their unique video aesthetic. Not only that, but it's dirt cheap, too.
