
It's a new product from as yet unreleased Optimus keyboard maker Art Lebedev. It plugs into a computer's second monitor port, and it will be "a single best friend of any music engineer or video editor."

What?... What do you mean?... Of course that's it! Why would I keep something from you?... How dare you call me a two-bit hack who churns out garbage just to get clicks on his... Alright, Alright! There's no need for that kind of language, I'll write something else.
The truth is, that's all we really know about the Upravlator. Based on Lebedev's above mentioned keyboard, and his currently available Mini Three, I can only assume it's some sort of input device with onboard display. There is a link on the page with images of an upravlator key, and a life-size mock-up (two pieces of foam glued together.) I don't doubt the potential coolness of the Upravlator, but I am wondering how friendly it can be to a video editor, when it's tying up the DVI port where his second monitor goes. Watch for a formal announcement next week.
