So many formats and so little time. Wouldn't it be nice to have one program that could convert anything and everything to something else? That is the idea behind the open source application MediaCoder. Here is what it can do:
- MP3, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, AAC+, AAC+V2, MusePack, WMA, RealAudio
- FLAC, WavPack, Monkey's Audio, OptimFrog, AAC Lossless, WMA Lossless, WAV
- H.264, Xvid, DivX, MPEG 1/2/4, H.263, Flash Video, 3ivx*, RealVideo*, Windows Media
- AVI, MPEG/VOB, Matroska, MP4, RealMedia*, ASF/WMV*, Quicktime*, OGM*
- CD, VCD, DVD, CUE Sheet
* supported as input only
Neato. And all for the price of free. Currently, MediaCoder looks to be a Windows only product, though I could be wrong. It's not really clear what systems it supports. At any rate, head over to the download section and give it a whirl, especially if you have a lot of transcoding to do.

1. hmm... sounds very cool. I've used my fair share of multiple encoding software, but always get sick of them and leave. Perhaps this one might be a winner - now I won't have to use three different sets of software :)
