Here's a little nugget you may not know about. I didn't, but then again, I'm new to all this Mac stuff (hi, my name is Sheila, and I'm a switcher). Fission is an audio editior that works with mono and stereo MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless and AIFF audio, enabling you to instantly trim and split files without losing quality. There's some discussion using real-world examples here, which is where I first found out about this software. You can try it for free, buy it for $32. I plan on giving it a try. Any Fission users out there?Cut a little audio with Fission

(Page 1)2. Sounds similar to the excellent, cross-platform and free Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/). I don't get into audio too heavily, but it is very easy to use and powerful enough for anything I have thrown at it. Seems highly regarded in general by folks who have much higher requirements than I do.

1. I downloaded it the other day but didn't bother attempting a project on it after reading this:
*Before purchase, the quality of audio saved with Fission will be intentionally degraded with a series of audio fades.
Super. I'm sure that would have helped me evaluate your software.
