The first source footage directly from the Canon XH-G1 has been posted at DVInfo.net, including 1080/60i and 1080/24F (24F = 24p, roughly) clips. They are raw M2T format, so consider using VLC or a similar program to view the footage. These shots should give you a decent idea of what Canon's low(er) budget HDV camera is capable of. The XH-G1 is available for purchase now.
