Sony Vegas 7 has been out for a couple weeks now and we're starting to see bits of information posted about the new version. Charlie White takes it for a spin and overall he gives it a thumbs up. The version he tested was 7.0a and he also mentions that a point release should be out in a week or so. It appears XDCAM and HDV users will benefit the most from the upgrade, but a few interface enhancements may make the upgrade worthwhile to Vegas users. Sony has also integrated support for Cinescore which works as a plug-in in Vegas, although only a demo version of Cinescore is included in the Vegas + DVD Production Suite.
