Hacking Netflix has posted screen shots of the Life Aquatic from both the iTunes Movie Store version and the DVD version. Steve Jobs claimed "near" DVD quality but I think it is closer to "farther" rather than "near". You can obviously see the iTunes movie is blurrier and lacking sharp detail. People are supposed to pay $13-15 for a worse picture, no extras, and lack of living room support instead of just buying the retail DVD? On the plus side you can easily put the movie on your 5G or 5.5G iPod and then hook it up to your TV that way, or get a video playing dock with remote.
