2. I'm 19, I'm a college student. I spent my last year of high school and the year after working in the "youth media" area for certain organizations. Now, I'm in college trying to train myself to be a media person but on a professional level. Also, I'm a complete techhead and computer geek and have been for all my life.

So far I think DVguru is pretty much where it needs to be, with a good balance of coverage. Not only do you cater to the ultrahighend professional, but way down to every level of student and even amateurs.

As long as you don't dumb down the site and keep catering to intelligent crowds, no matter what their age or particular profession, I think you're doing a good job. On occasion, because I'm a daily viewer of your site, I even get to give my professor tips on things, and this guy is in the Motion Picture Editors Guild, so he probably knows his trade pretty well.

3. I'm a sophomore in high school and I make movies for fun. DV Guru has given me a few helpful tips and links (how I discovered Celtx), so that's why I put the RSS on my google homepage. I like the challenges, but I haven't been able to enter one yet so more would be cool.

4. I used to work in TV production about 10 years ago, but these days I am reverted back to a camcorder hobbyist. It's great to see what was the hint of a revolution back then--inexpensive digital video empowering the little guy--is coming to fruition today.

I think the content is the site is spot-on. I like seeing news about new gear, even if I can't afford it. At the same time I'm most interested in the prosumer stuff since that is theoretically attainable.

Other good stuff--NLE software and plugins. Tutorials. Reviews of tools like Celtx and other creative or pre-production tools. Workflow tips.

I read the site daily to get the latest info on new cameras, software offerings, tutorials, etc. I'm interested in anything that can help me help me make better films cheaper and faster. 6. I'm a full-time editor at a large educational institution. As an all-around general techhead I really enjoy the variety in the content on the site. One thing I will say is that it does tend to be a bit heavier on online video distribution posts than I would prefer. I suppose this would be more important to me if I had an independent film to promote and it's really no big deal to keep scrolling down past the post so keep up the good work!

7. I graduated about two years ago from film school and currently work for a small time operation while attempting to do as much as i can on my own. I do everything from print media to editing to graphics so I am always interested in tutorials and guides on how to do new and innovative things with software. I also am shooting pretty much twice a month and editing those projects myself so keeping in touch with gear really helps out. This site has already proven very useful and I have turned several people onto it, so thanks again and keep up the good work!!

8. I make zero/low-budget shorts and do freelance videography work. I'm on a small budget and not interested in anything costing more than $5k (when I see "Red" in a headline, I move on).

For software, I like tutorials and tips about the staples: Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, FCP/PP/Vegas. Video tutorials are the best.

More info about actual shooting would be nice.

I'd prefer less news and more analysis about the latest online video distribution thing.

I'm interested in HD, but don't shoot it or even watch it yet.

9. I'm a recent college grad who plans to get into indy production at some point. I love technology so I always keep up with it. I think you guys have a good balance. I like knowing about new toys no matter what the price but I also agree I'd like to see more articles on the process both high end and indy.

10. I agree with the previous statements for the most part. I work for a college doing shooting, editing, & animation. I would like to see more tips on compositing 3D animations and matte paintings. Especially using Maya, Combustion, & FC Studio.

13. I'm a freelance editor and DT. I've worked for many independant TV producer for shows broadcasted on national TV (Canada). I've been doing that for 6 years now. I'm going more and more toward Motion Graphics (learning Combustion and Lightwave). I'm also administrator of the Montreal Final Cut User Group.

I like to stay up to date and read about future products. Thanks for gathering all that info for us.

14. Well, I'm actually just someone trying to get by in this world. I guess you could call me a hobbyist. I'd like to someday get a job as an editor and/or producer for movies or television, but I hear it's all about who you know and not what you know in this field, so I'm not to optimistic about that. So in the meantime I write my own stuff, give the ideas to friends to shoot, and afterwards I edit the video for them and we just have fun with it. I'm still keeping my eye out for that entry-level position to get my foot in the door.

I like DVguru because it keeps its aims low, towards the lower-end crowd with cost-cutting tips and free software recommends (as someone else said, it's how I found Celtx)

15. I'm a 17 year old HS senior who is interested in making movies but has no idea where to begin. I'm good at Photoshop, but not video editing. I'd like to see some more articles for noobs like me, as well as links to good deals. :D

16. Chris, indie filmmaker. Yeah it's fun.

Let's see some more on getting a professional look. Anyone with a camera can get the YouTube look, but it takes some direction to get a sweet looking filmic/professional look.

DIY stuff is always great too, cost cutting tips, anything along those lines that helps indies out since really indie is the future.
