iTunes movie downloads in September?

According to a recent report in BusinessWeek, Apple will announce plans to offer movie downloads through iTunes in mid-September, says AppleInsider. Apparently (and conveniently?), Disney is the only studio which is reported to be signed up for the deal as of right now. Additionally, movies will be priced at $14.99 for new releases and $9.99 for older films. (How old is old?) This pricing scheme was supposedly a compromise between studios and Steve Jobs, whom had hoped to sell all titles at a fixed price of $9.99. Personally speaking, I think pricing needs to be seriously examined (not just with Apple, but all download services) if companies expect consumers to jump on the (legal) movie download bandwagon. As of right now, we're not really looking at significant savings when comparing downloads to DVDs, which offer lots of extra content, as we all know. (Not to mention, are sans DRM, too.)
