This was somewhat expected news: Final Cut Studio is not supported in the new Macbook's. You can still install the software on the Macbook but performance will suffer. Motion will be almost unusuable because "the integrated graphics processor in the MacBook does not permit float processing in Motion." For simple DV editing, I am guessing the MacBook should be fine. Bigger projects, longer sequences, multi-screen effects will expectedly strain this entry level laptop. If you seriously need to edit on a laptop, I think MacBook Pro is a very good option and the price is also quite competive.(via Tuaw)

1. To say that "Motion will be almost unusable" due to the lack of an ability to work in float is overkill. Motion didn't even have the ability to work in float until v2.0, but this didn't render it unusable. It's great to be able to work in float when needed, but not all projects require float.
