So DTV is now Democracy Player and is also available on Windows. No idea why the name change,
it now sounds a little too dramatic. Whats next World Peace? I had included the application in my Best & Worst of 2005, so I have no
intention of belittling any of its ambitions. Unlike iTunes, Google Video and other quality video distribution apps, it
is the only one that is open-source with an interest in keeping the web free and democratic (there is that word again).
It also comes package with a very useful app called like Broadcast
Machine, an app that aids Filmmakers distribute their work online. Here is Victor Agreda, Jr. on our sister site, Download
Squad, about Broadcast Machine: "There's a channel guide built in to Democracy player, like the iTunes music store.
But the most critical component is Broadcast Machine. While I don't see the ability to add hyper links, which I felt was
a killer feature, there are all sorts of great things about it still. The most powerful is, once again, being able to
easily graft video content together and publish it auto magically." If you either watch or distribute a lot of
video content online, I highly suggest you download the apps.Democracy Player a.k.a. DTV
