A group calling themselves the Music Video Directors Alliance is calling the music industry out about not properly compensating directors over iTunes Music Stores sales of their videos. One Million downloads in 20 days mobilized the group into action. They say that since instead of making commercials for the recorded music, music videos are more like an extension of the music, thus making it content that can be sold and distributed accordingly. The MVDA says 350 music video directors have signed a petition asking the Directors Guild of America to get involved, and help facilitate fair compensation for directors. While the MVDA claims to have reputable members, a quick trip to their petition comments page shows angry directors, but none of which will sign their name to the petition. If you're going to be angry, take a stand! If it's really the future, and it's really important, put your name and rep on the line!

1. Go away! Go home! Stop scamming for money! Music videos are advertising for albums nothing more. Take a loss on the video production to get a sale on the music.
