With the official announcement from DV Expo set to take place today, Panasonic has updated their web site with loads on new info on the HVX200. After months of speculation Panasonic has finally announced the official release date as December 29th, just barely keeping their commitment to a pre 2006 release. Panasonic has also announced the final list of HVX200/P2 bundles that will be available for purchase at the release.HVX200 - $5,995

HVX200 + two 4GB P2 cards - $6,995
HVX200 + five 4GB P2 cards - $9,240
HVX200 + two 8GB P2 cards - $9,995
A new FAQ has also been added to the camera's page, though most of the information in it has already been widely published there are a few new bits of info for your viewing pleasure.









1. That's good news indeed. I had my doubts about the 2005 release and Panasonic bearly made it.
The only BAD news are some reports of noisy indoor footage with a test unit:
