DIY Depth of Field Generator

We're always up for DIY projects at DV Guru, like Zadi's DIY External SATA RAID ArrayHack-a-day linked over to a DIY Depth of Field Generator. The folks use a couple different parts (including a clear CD and a broken CD player motor) to make it work.  The only problem is, once you've got it all put together, the image is still upside down.  Of course you can flip it in post, but if someone can figure out another DIY way to flip it around, you'd have a fun project for a weekend!  Of course, you could always wait for the camera that can fix focus and depth-of-field itself.
