3. I use ZoomPlayer (PC) for everyday video viewing, plus Quicktime to view some MP4s and some editing chores. ZoomPlayer works great with my TV that's set up as a second monitor.

1. Many of my friends use VLC Player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/). It plays back pretty much any file under then sun, without the need for codec installs (it even supports H.264). But I had audio problems.
So my favorite is still Windows Media Player, with the K-Lite Codec Pack installed (http://www.codecguide.com/features_mega.htm). It plays anything, including Quicktime and Real files.
As for music, I use iTunes.
