iTags is an experimentation in multi-media tagging. Basically, the idea is that you can tag your file independent of your blog post. So if your video, audio, photo, sound, or text file goes out without a referral to your blog, it has all the relevant information inside the file. This includes the user ID, licensing for the object, and tagging information. It would also be backwards compatible with Technorati. Mary Hodder, the developer behind the project, invites you to add to the Wiki and let her know what you think. This is much needed for videobloggers, whose videos often fly off by themselves and have no way of tracking back to their home. Also, would just cut down time on searching all those videos online. I wonder if it would be possible to lock the tag after creation. Tagging ideas at Tag Camp.iTags: A New Idea in Tagging Media
