One of the overlooked features of the new iPod is the ability to now record audio in full CD quality unlike before (in full tin can quality). The new iPod records in 44.1khz stereo and 22.05khz mono. "No word yet on formats
(presumably it's compressed, rather than raw aiff files), but it's
certainly good news. Expect a rash of all-in one XLR port/phantom
power/preamps in matching white and black." I wonder why Apple did not just add a mic and give you the option of adding another. Podcasting is moving quickly, something like this would be a podcaster's wet dream. I would not suggest recording sound for a feature film or anything broadcast but for personal projects this should work. Recording Audio on the new iPod
