I've been seeing more and more ads about becoming certified in different NLEs and other video-related products. I know having A.C.E. at the end of your name looks great and all, but is becoming certified in a particular NLE really worth all the cost? I've seen prices run around $1,099.00 for a barebones Level-1 Final Cut Pro 5 cert, not to mention Avid's suite of courses run around $5,000. Is it worth it to have a certification, or should one just keep the money, and instead work on a great tape?
