More and more, we spend more time in our web browsers and it seems that trend will continue to increase as more developers are developing applications for web browsers. The day we can actually edit a movie in a web browser is far off but there other aspects of filmmaking you can use the web browser for. Here is a basic round-up of some of those tools, feel free to add to the list.- Writeboard - write a screenplay, collaborate with others, export. Great versioning system.
- Writely - keep your all text online, collaborate with others.
- Jotslive & Synchroedit (alpha) - collaborate on a screenplay, LIVE!
- Word Player - write in screenplay format.
- Mayomi - visually organize your structure of your screenplay or maybe just your thoughts.
- Typetester - get the right text for your graphics.
- What the font - find out the names for fonts that mystify you.
- ColorMatch, ColorBlender, Colr - Find the right colors for your graphics.
- Lookwow, Image Embellisher - add effects to images.
- Animated GIF MovieMaker, GifWorks, BlendGif - create animated gif's.
- Imagecrop - crop your images online.
- ACzoom - create your DVD insert templates.
- Blogspot & Blogsome - why get a website to market your film when you can get a free blog.
- Ta-da lists & Trackslife - track your projects and keep it online so you can access it anywhere.
All of these are free, some of these will have restrictions on how much is free. Enjoy!

1. Very good list. I'd recommend Backpack (backpackit.com) for managing stuff during production.
