Thanks to Akihabara News you can now get a first glimpse at one of the first PC based Blu-ray burners. Details are slim, but what is known is that the drive is made by Pioneer and supports DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD-+DL and BR (BluRay) formats. The drive looks like it will be called the BRD-101A, though according to the report it will lack both CD and DVD-RAM support. Expect to break out the checkbook when the drive finally does become commercially available, hopefully at some point in the near future.

1. I get all my burners for our company at sli direct, and they just put up a neak preview of bluray burners and when i talked to them they said a WHOLE lot more is on the way, so expect for some of the first purchases to be through them.
