Catalogue Your Video

foottrack.jpgFootTrack 2.2 has been released. I recently covered some DV software essentials but failed to mentioned cataloging software for video (think iPhoto for video). And among these softwares available on the Mac Platform, FootTrack is a stand out. Why do you need this? To keep your video organized whether it be online or offline. With FootTrack you could import video, compress many hours of footage to a file size that would fit on a cd, so you could delete all the original hard-drive eating footage. The remaining files consist of little thumbnails, so if you ever need to find a shot, you search these. You can also tag all the various scenes and footage, place them in various group -- so it is easier to find. The new version integrates with Spotlight technology on Tiger. Now there are other worthy competitors on the Mac platform like iDive, iVideo and iViewMedia Pro. At some point, maybe we could do a review of the various options and maybe even include the PC options. Till then, download the demo's and take a look for yourself.
