JVC has showcased one of the most feature packed HDV camera's around, the GY-HD100E. Besides the HD, the other stand-out feature is that it can interchange lenses which none of the other camera's in its range can do. Some of the other features include 720P signal, two XLR audio inputs, SD slots, 1/3" 3-CCD system with support for both NTSC and Pal. All this for a nice $5300. It even looks like a pro camera. The interchangeable lenses always goes well with filmmakers because you can get the very best lenses instead of the stock camera lens and also in a sense upgrade the camera thus elongating its life-span. It plays and records DV so your DV tapes will continue to live on. This is not in the market yet but you can go to the official website which is sadly in Japanese. But you can drool over the pictures if you want! JVC Introduces the GY-HD100E

1. I Bought an GY HD101E a month ago that is from the first shipment to arrive in Jakarta Indonesia. I am a film director working on commercials and coorporate videos. The camera until now looks like a great tool. It has very good overall quallity and the picture in DV and specially in 720p is amazing. The 720p 24 frames in my opinion, if someone respects the settings that are found in the menu, can be equal or even better than 16mm film. We test the camera everyday for an upcoming project that requires HD. Everyday we discover that the camera has great potential and for its money it is really amazing.
I am not a promoter of JVC but up to now these are my real impressions. Panos Bournias - Bali - Indonesia
